The headliner this month is eclipse season. August unleashes the energy that was set up in July, but somewhat inhibited by Mercury retrograde and Neptune and Saturn stationing retrograde. Venus in Virgo added extra caution on top. Our outer planets were aligned, but our inner planets were blocking the desire to make a big move without better intel.
We officially leave the Mercury retrograde shadow period on August 6th. On the same day, Venus enters Libra — a lovely position of domicile, allowing us to seek greater balance and harmony in our relationships and finances. This will feel like a glow-up from its more critical stint in Virgo, and it collaborates beautifully with its Leo counterparts.
On the 9th, Mercury, our planet of communication, leaves cautious Cancer and enters fiery Leo. Whatever messages that have been delayed or repressed will likely surface at this point. Leo rules creative self-expression, and it is a season of truth-telling.
With a strong opposition to Pluto, the mirror of what isn't working is likely showing up very strongly, and the willingness and courage to do something about it is matched. We're ready for courageous action, risk-taking, and transformative veritas that holds nothing back.
The first eclipse, a total solar eclipse, lands at 20 degrees of Leo on August 12th — on the same Leo/Aquarius axis that was lit up at the end of July. This is a strong boost for starting something new or making a sharp pivot. This axis emphasizes creative expression and authenticity, using your unique gifts in service of the collective.
The second eclipse, a partial lunar eclipse, happens at 4 degrees of Pisces on August 28th. Eclipses have 10x the energy of full and new moons; the exact days can feel a bit off-kilter. This eclipse brings closure and a final release to a two-year cycle — one that will feel good to let go of, creating space for something new.
We end the month with Jupiter forming a trine to Saturn on the 31st, a very helpful transit not only for creating a vision but for building the structure that will support it over the long term. With Saturn in retrograde, we can see clearly what is and isn't working and are supported in taking the next best steps.
